One of New England's newest devotional music groups, Heart Centered Kirtan offers a modern adaptation of the meditative and energizing practice of call-and-response singing. Weaving Sanskrit and Buddhist mantras into their own original blend of rock, folk, blues, and reggae, Heart Centered Kirtans are accessible and inspirational. The band is led by wallah Libby Volckening (keys/vox), with Thomas Matherly (bass), Ezra Landis (guitar), and Owen Landis (percussion), and friends.
Kirtan is a meditative and energizing practice of devotional call-and-response singing. The repetition of the phrases combined with the back-and-forth nature of this group song relaxes body and mind, creates connection, and fosters an awareness of something greater than one's individual self.
Everyone is welcome, including beginners and kids of all ages. Let the music clear your mind and soothe your heart.
